Ian Miller, the lead guitarist and primary songwriter for the band Tucker, is dead—and Sam Miller, Ian’s younger brother and former band mate, is stuck with the unfortunate task of attending to the funerary arrangements.  Of course, the first people on the guest list are the old members of the band.  However, when Lily (bass), Mark (keyboards) and Sam (percussion) find themselves in a room together for the first time in years, it’s clear why the band never got back together.  As these three background figures take center stage, the audience is left wondering—where’s Luke (lead vocals) …or anyone else for that matter?

Tucker in a Box is a sometimes caustic, sometimes comical and all around dramatic play about a trio of Gen-X-ers struggling with adulthood, and one another, as they reconnect and face the people they’ve become after years spent individually making meaning of their experiences.
